Week 7a. PowerPoint
Tasks
To create a PowerPoint.
- Customize design.
- Add transitions to slides.
- Add animation to text.
- Hide text under shape.
- Add sound
- Add picture
- Add video
Steps
1. Open Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
2. Add a title and subtitle.
3. Double click or highlight text.
4. 'Drawing Tools (Format)' will appear.
5. Customize text however desired.
Drawing Format
6. Choose an option from 'Themes'.
Design Tab
8. Under 'Transition to this Slide' to choose any transition.
9. Highlight text, click 'Customize Animations' under 'Animations'.
10. Option for Customizing comes up, click 'Add Effect' choose whether it is an entrance, emphasis or exit.
11. Under 'Modify: Box' choose when the transition will occur, the direction it will come from and the length of time it will take.
12. Highlight text, under 'Transitions to this Slide' click 'Transition Sound' and choose sound
13. Highlight text, under 'Shapes Style' choose shape.
14. Highlight Shape. Click ' Customize Animations' under 'Animations'.
15. Repeat Steps 11-12
Animations Tab
17. Click 'New Slide' from 'Slides' to add a new slide.
18. Under 'Paragraph' option click bullet points icon.
19. Type desired information.
Home Tab
21. Under 'Illustrate' select 'Picture' option.
22. When files appear, choose preferred picture.
23. 'Picture Tools (Format)' Tab will appear.
24. Customize Photo however desired.
25. Under 'Media Clips' click 'Movie' option.
26. When files appear, choose preferred movie/video.
27. 'Movie Tools (Options)' will appear.
28. Customize Movie however desired.
29. Under 'Media Clips' click 'Sound' option.
30. Click 'Sound from Clip Organizer' option.
31. Choose a sound.
32. 'Sound Tools (Options)' will appear.
33. Customize Sound however desired.
34. Write in Reference at the end of slide.

Solution
I explored PowerPoint and all the Tabs.
New Discoveries & Benefits
There are many features and customization on PowerPoint. Different media of the same information can be executed, this is beneficial for the different types of learners.
Results
I will use PowerPoint to highlight all important information for students to capture. After executing all the new information learnt, the PowerPoint will appear more interesting and hopefully capture the attention of my students.

Week 7b. Platforms
Tasks
- Explore Mindmap using MindMeister.
- Create a product to represent information on a specific topic.
Steps
- Create a text in the center of the screen.
- Press tab on your keyboard to add main branches from a central text.
- Write ideas about the subject using only keywords.
- Press enter for another main branch.
- Press tab on your keyboard to add sub branches.
- Write detailed information about the main branches in the sub branches.
- Change colour of text or background, add emoji or pictures by using the options on the right side.
Challenges
- Using MindMeister, adding branches and subbranches.
Solutions
I went on YouTube and searched for 'MindMapping Software'.
New Benefits & Discoveries
I am now aware that ideas and brainstorming can be done on a technological device. They can even be customized to suit my preference.
Results
I will use MindMapping as a way to summarize work and to allow students to see the visual representation of some ideas. This will also help me when I am planning lessons with my class, as I will have my main information/points on hand at all times organized and laid out to allow me to remember the activities.
